Nothing sells itself except maybe ice cream. That's particularly true when the company is small, has a terrible balance sheet and has two large, experienced competitors whispering in prospects' ears, "don't do business with them, they'll be bankrupt in a week." That's what Dr. Jones and his staff fight every day. Recall that the critical certifications that the company has earned -- TSA and Europe --have come in the past 30 days or so. It was folly to think we'd get sales within 30 days. At the risk of repeating the obvious, governments move oh so slow. Consider that the $2 million TSA research partnership IMSC just earned was initiated on September 17, 2013. 2013! A year!
I did some checking, and that award is significant because it appears Smiths and Morpho DID NOT earn a similar award. I can't believe they didn't try; getting in bed with the TSA is critical for them, and us. In reviewing our competitors websites, I also observed there were no PR releases related to ETD. As someone said on the board, all the awards seem to be going to IMSC. Yes, we'd like larger sales, but the environment certainly seems to favor Implant, not Smiths or Morpho. I do believe we have a future, and the future is no longer measured in years, but in weeks.
Clearly the TSA favors IMSC's technology and, no doubt, prefers working with our team. That includes our sales team as well as our scientists and engineers. Given the very difficult circumstances Dr. Jones has operated in since he joined Implant about 2 years ago, I would give him a lot more time to perform. I think he's quite capable, as time will tell.
