Not true 4ever....energy storage will happen, soon, and on many scales (i.e. residential, commercial, industrial, and utility), each presenting their own set of challenges and design requirements. There are many ways of achieving energy storage, such as hydrogen storage, compressed air, and batteries, just to name a few. While hydrogen has great potential and is easily stored, the associated fuel cells necessary inject engineering hurdles of their own.

Of all the energy storage mediums, batteries are still the best choice. There are many different types of batteries and each has an application, but I like established Li manufacturers for investment (you will see that electric cars will not only provide transportation, but the battery systems will be able to offset your home electrical usage during peak times, or during grid outages, and even provide grid stability as many small batteries in parallel function like one very large battery). There are also several companies working on very promising and cost effective flow batteries.

But make no mistake......energy storage will definitely be a multi-billion dollar industry within the next two to five years. Figuring out where most of the investment money will go is the trick. Choose wisely.
