You might also note the size of both those examples.

They are large (misys: 4000 employees) HSBC China (5,500 employees).

Wave is tiny.

There is no way a chief of staff is required for 150 employees and a company with annual revenue of Wave's size.

There better be deals, done and imminent, associated with the hire that made it necessary. Otherwise, it is just a favor done for an old friend at shareholder expense.
