I reckon I agree to a point, but, but, but, suppose I am totally upside here....I absolutely agree 100% same sex marriage is wrong, screwed-up and should not happen, but if that is the life style someone chooses I don't think I have the right to make them live my way, they have a choice. Now I demand the same respect, these folks who believe such is ok, they have absolutely no right to dictate to me or my faith how I/we are to live and no right whatsoever changing church doctrine or the commandments of God.
Now like I said I may be missing the larger picture here and certainly have no problem with someone saying..."I disagree, I see it this way".....might help me a bit...lol...This country was founded upon Judeo-Christians principles and it is heart breaking to see what is happening to our once Christian nation. I often just shake my head and wonder what is going on....but checking it out shows that we are no different than the Hebrew Children & Gentile folks of yrs ago. I just don't know where we missed the boat, I suppose, greed, money, power, sex, rude behavior sort of top the list. Maybe over my 71 yrs on earth I have added some gas to the fire that is tearing us all apart, maybe organized religion got tied up in the some of the above, certainly our political leaders have lost their way....reckon I got way off subject here...nothing unusual...lol....
PRAYER-----it is mentioned much in churches and Christians groups how much our country is in need of God's help and we need to turn to God in prayer....as Christians are we holding up our end of this prayer need or just offering lip service? Should local churches start a weekly prayer service just for our country? just brain storming out loud here. If a pastor stands in the pulpit and speaks on the "Power of God"....then somewhere down the line he has a need to put this faith to work.....let me bring it close to Sandston, Va., if I speak to my family and friends about the Power of God through Prayer, then I need to step up....Talk the talk, I gotta walk the walk
You know, maybe, we could set a certain time of the day aside--- one day/evening, each week, right here on this Bible Board where we "ALL" come together in prayer for our country and our country's leaders. Maybe I pray for 30 seconds, yet another may pray for 30 minutes....I know many of you already pray for our country, I was not implying that we don't... Jesus said faith can move a mountain, I do not suggest we test God, but we could put our faith to work as a small group....just saying....
