Funny, I have lived and worked on a farm all my life and hemp is a seed crop similar corn, wheat, rye, or soy beans. Once the crop has matured the seed and stalk are ok as long as moisture, insects or mold does not set in. If they wait to long the quality of the seed head may suffer and drop some seeds to the ground. The main thing is to harvest at the right time to ensure the seeds grade well without any sign of mold. The stalks could suffer insect infestation because some insects hibernate in plant stalks during the winter. DSCR will harvest soon because the plants matured at 110 days and they do not want to let this crop sit in the field.
