I was actually pretty optimistic about VSPC early in the year because it seemed to be gaining some traction. However, as the year has gone on, I have been pretty frustrated. First by Maricopa, which was the biggest potential deal, but turned out to be a scam. Second, by the dearth of new deal announcements in the past 6 months. Third, by the lack of follow-up on any of the deals announced in the first 4 months of this year. Fourth, by the lack of news regarding the GKG license renewal, which is leading me to think that Chang may be demanding some additional concessions to provide it
However, I am keeping an open mind about the license renewal. It is also possible that they are negotiating a new relationship given the lack of success of VGRE in China. VSPC is looking good by comparison. I was struck by one of the recent PRs that cited China as an opportunity which did not make sense since VGRE has exclusivity there unless VSPC had reached a new understanding with Chang which included China. We shall see.
