Here is a pattern I can live with. That up 1, down 1, up 1, down 3 sucked (although I did make money in the short term, but hated to see us get beat down)
After that the pattern was down 2% in pre market, go green to start the day then finish down 4%-6%.
Now the pattern is up 2% pre market, go to 5% to start, come down to 2%-3% and close 3%-5% green...let's rinse and repeat THAT and we should come up smelling like roses!
