Electronic manipulation using computers to process sell and buy orders based on retail behavior. Basically, it's a way for the guy with the fastest computer to control the price of a security. He can see what you ordered and then his computer can automatically respond and submit a buy or sell before yours hits the market.

Of course, it could just be coincidence, too.
