William called me 'out of the blue Saturday' and we chatted about 1/2 hr. He also followed up with an email with all his contact number.
A couple of things occured to me after the 'off guard' call. I realized my name and home phone number are not published info and all the time we talked, the background noise sounded like a lot of voices talking on other phones, I almost hung up the first second or two thinking it was another telemarketer calling, since I get so many, but most don't call me by name before their pitch.I meant to ask where he was calling from.....maybe just a busy sport's bar. lol
I 'cold called' for 30 years to make appointments while selling insurance. I was very good at it and often, when I am in the mood, will talk to the caller, tell them my history, and give some helpfull hints how they could modify their pitch/front talk, to hold the interest of the prospect.
Anyway, it was interesting talking to the man....I guess he liked some of my posts. He asked how many shares I had, so I guess he was not using the list of shareholders to make his call. I told him I don't have the exact number since I keep adding, but that I know I bought way too many VMGI shares at higher prices.....however, all those cheap Meridian shares paid off. We both laughed.
