ib: It has nothing to do with insiders doing something wrong. The SEC is trying to get YA to alter their fair value equation. While there is no standard equation for fair value, the SEC believes YA's formula allows YA to unjustly keep some portfolio companies operating. The SEC is contending that a portion of the YA portfolio have no true fair value and should be bankrupted.

If the SEC wins the case, it would be bad for the portfolio companies and enrich YA investors.
