Since the volume for the whole day was only a little over 2 million shares, there obviously were not that many big buys. However, about half this total volume came in the last 15 minutes, so perhaps that is what you are referring to.

I bought 1 million shares in the last 15 minutes before the close today, in two 500,000 share orders. The first order filled in a single fill at 0.006. The second order filled in various fills between 0.00587 and 0.0063. Since this late day volume was all me, I can tell you with certainty that this was not somebody who "knows something we don't". It was simply someone (me) that thinks that after the news earlier this week, the odds of the stock price going up from here are higher than the odds of the stock price going down from here.
