Here's a Governor who's talking about this:

Gov. John Kitzhaber: "Yes, humans have played a major role in climate change, and it is the single most important environmental issue facing us today. Oregon has the challenge and opportunity to transition to clean, renewable energy like wind and solar because it will help the environment and create good-paying, local jobs that can't be outsourced. We have an obligation to our kids and grandkids to address climate change and end our dependence on dirty fuels like coal. We need to shape energy generation, transportation, and infrastructure investment, rather than having it shape us, and we are taking important steps to do that.

One of my top legislative goals is to reauthorize our low carbon fuel standard. A broad coalition of business and community leaders supports this effort to open Oregon's transportation market to cleaner fuels, create jobs and provide consumers choices that protect them from the volatility of oil prices.
