What will be the target in the upcoming NSCLC PEG trial? What regimen will PEG be used with?

NSCLC is made up primarily of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell. Adenocarcinoma of the lung is currently the most common type of lung cancer. Molecular targeted therapy with agents such as gefitinb, erlotinib, cetuximab and bevacizumab is used most commonly in advanced stages of adenocarcinoma. It is suggestive, then, that high HA adenocarcinoma is most associated with poor prognosis.

...in the subgroup of patients with adenocarcinoma (n = 49), a strong stromal signal for HA predicted poor DFS. The level of HA in the stroma of adenocarcinomas retained its prognostic value in Cox's multivariate analysis. These results indicate that the frequency and intensity of HA has a significant prognostic value in NSCLC, particularly when the histological subtypes are analyzed as separate entities.
