MP makes a Keurig-like product and their biggest brand is JAMN's. If they want the Real Cups to survive, then they need the Marley brand to survive. To that end, they have invested in JAMN - they believed that by keeping Marley Coffee afloat, they'd keep Real Cups afloat as well.



Not even close. At this stage, MC is hardly a top selling brand and to be honest not something MP really needs. Remember, MP is a very successful well established company, that definitely does not need MC to keep their real cups afloat. They have a team of accountants who had the exact same information you had, and could easily see MC is struggling.
No, this is all about long term and the enormous potential that MC has. This is why they made such a huge commitment and which is why they will continue to support MC until such potential is reached. Most likely 2-4 years.
