XIV - Inverse VIX ETN
Anyone with experience AIMing this ETN?
I've been looking for an exotic product to AIM and been mostly experimenting with LETFs, but now I am thinking that XIV, the inverse of VIX ETN, might be an interesting choice. My thinking is that volatility (measured by VIX) cannot go up forever and the spikes do not last too long, which makes the inverse ETN recover fast. I would allocate a large cash position, like two thirds.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have a feeling Clive must've experimented with it :).
b.t.w. regardless of when a standard AIM program started for this ETN, today would've triggered a buy.
