Strategy Analytics estimates $945 million worth of tablet silicon was shipped last quarter and there were some changes in the standing.

Apple is still the biggest name in tablet SoCs, with an estimated 26-percent revenue share. However, Intel has managed to seize second place with a 19 percent revenue share, while Qualcomm ranks third with 17 percent.

Apple: 245.7 million
Intel: 179.6 million
Qualcomm: 160.65 million

So the #1 leader sells less than $250 million worth of chips/quarter and the total is only $945 million. If Intel gets 60% that's still only $570 million. OK, even if they take 100% share its still less than $1 billion.

Intel sold 10 million chips last quarter so that's $18/SoC. That means $179.6 million may be something BEFORE the contra revenue. Now if they *ELIMINATE* the contra revenue and take up 60% revenue share maybe they'll end up with $600 million/quarter for their mobile division.

Doesn't that pose a serious issue for Intel?

Update: I see Tim's point. I do agree that their Atom chips keep ARM "at bay". It won't be too bad if they can cut the minuses by 50% and get 60% revenue share, which would be possible if they cover everything from lowest to high-end SoCs except Apple.
