So if Calkin isn't involved in the day to day operation of the company - then he should be attending all of the major conferences and GRCU should be a exhibitor to let the world know about the new products etc.

Here seems to be a problem with your scenario - if Cruz is running the day to day operations of GRCU a public company - what is he doing with his real estate company?
