When I make comments about Washington State as being the Political Correct Capital of the world I bet some of you think I'm just being dramatic.

Bellingham council may replace Columbus Day

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) - The Bellingham City Council will consider an ordinance to celebrate Coast Salish Day instead of Columbus Day.

The proposal comes from council member Roxanne Murphy, a member of the Nooksack tribe who says Columbus Day is hurtful for many Native Americans.

The Bellingham Herald reports the Bellingham council will consider an ordinance on Oct. 13 to recognize the second Monday in October as Coast Salish Day.

In Seattle, the City Council will consider an ordinance Oct. 6 to replace Columbus Day with Indigenous People's Day.
