A TON of money is transferred from Hispanics living in the southwest back to Mexico and beyond. If tourism is Mexico's #1 source of income, the transfer of funds from family members living in US sending money back south of the border is a close 2nd. It may even be vice versa. Remittances from Mexicans living abroad to families back in Mexico was $22 Billion in 2012.
