It is in OTCMarkets best interest to make people believe their tiers have some meaning and paying for their services actually has legal meaning. Not only does OTCMarkets do their best to bury the truth on their website (funny how they constantly change the location of their disclaimers on their website) but their marketing and sales persons are less than forthcoming about the truth in their sales pitches to potential client companies. I suppose OTCMarkets would claim it is the companies that "misunderstood" their salespeople and they never said or implied that paying OTCMarkets results in certain legal and regulatory benefits, but when I hear the exact same claims from numerous companies, it cannot be chalked up to a "misunderstanding".
