Today we got a big jump in VXX. If past history is a guide it doesn't stay above 30 for long.

At about 9:15 today:
1. Volatility surged
2. The U.S. market dropped
3. European markets dropped
4. Asian markets dropped
5. Gold recovered strongly and silver recovered a bit

What do you make of it, and what's your prediction going forward?

My normal guess is that we get some stability and prices don't change a whole lot the next day. But obviously that's a wag.
