A Mark 5 actually running. Sort of...

Cyclone posted a link to a video on Twitter.

It's 24 seconds of a Mark 5 running. Not very well, mind you, and not connected to a load. But other than the squeals, steam leaks and jumping around, it's "running sweet" as Harry would say.

Now this Mark 5 is missing the burner, steam generator tubing, combustion air preheaters, combustion air fans, feed water pumps, cam operated valves with cutoff control, supercritical steam, automatic clearance control heads, feed water preheaters at the cylinder exhausts and condenser.

Other than that it's pure Harry Schoell ingenious fully integrated and hermetically sealed Powerplant of the Future.
