Not trying to be difficult but heard this argument before.

It makes no sense.

The POG is everything to a miner especially the smaller they are as they can't ride out a significant downturn.

Majors can high grade from the best mines and continue producing. Juniors only have what they have and can't do much high grading.

The price of gold falls below a certain level and explorers have no market so they collapse. The reverse is also true if gold flys higher there will be big demand for their properties so they will follow gold higher.
