Is Apple getting free ride ?

Apple sold new I-phones over 10 million in just one weekend. Apple contract with IDCC expired in July 2014.
What is happening with renewal with Apple ? We, idcc share holders took beating or not participating in Apple sales/ profit due to fixed fee management had with them for last 7 years.
Now Apple is riding for free or using IDCC patents and no agreements unless Apple decided not use them. What a management style.
I am glad chairman is retiring.
Since Apple contract expired in July , we are almost in October yet no new information.
No surprise, stock has lost almost $ 8.00 from $ 48 plus few months ago.
IDCC management should at least keep informed share holders what is happening with Apple renewal ?
Any comments ?
