Sounds like a lot of shares to me, but I guess it depends on when you bought them.

Somebody here MUST know more about this than I do, but common sense may help to answer this:
"does it matter what I personally lost or just number of shares owned?"

I expect that your loss matters and your share count doesn't. To provide a specific amount to people based on the number of shares they held wouldn't make sense. Believe it or not, the share price during the fraud period (whenever that was) didn't go down EVERY day and a few people actually MADE money...it wouldn't be appropriate to treat them equally to those who were "injured".
I found this explanation of a Restitution Plan...Even though we aren't anticipating a combined class action settlement and Restitution Fund, I think the last sentence touches on your question:
10. What does the Restitution Fund provide?
The Restitution Fund provides $156.633 million funded by PNC ICLC Corp. and AIG Financial Products Corp. under the terms
of (i) PNC ICLC Corp.’s, AIG Financial Products Corp.’s, and AIG-FP PAGIC Equity Holding Corp.’s agreements with the United
States Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Fraud Section and (ii) the Securities and Exchange Commission’s judgment against
American International Group Inc. for victim restitution, including for the settlement of any pending shareholder securities law litigation.
Under the terms of the DPA, none of the proceeds of the Restitution Fund may be payable as attorneys’ fees and all costs
of administering the Restitution Fund are to be borne by PNC ICLC Corp. After accounting for distributions to claimants from the
Class Action Settlement Fund, claimants may not receive more than their out-of-pocket loss from the Restitution Fund.

Good luck....but don't get your hopes up. Any Fund will have to come from the disgorgement of funds by people who have shown that they couldn't be trusted to feed your pet if you were out of town.
