You could say the exact same thing about Liquidmetal! Except LQMT has been tying to market product profitably for over a decade. Sounds like Shroers is just getting his feet wet
trying to bring product to market.
That does mean there is more amorphous alloy competition out there trying to make and sell product. Not good for LQMT IMO. But, certainly not devastating either considering that amorphous alloy product seems to be a difficult sell for anyone. And the fact that LQMT is locked out of consumer electronics anyway.
For what it's worth, I still think an amorphous alloy phone case is overkill. It may protect the phone from scratches, but who cares. You will never see the scratch free phone casing anyway. And the amorphous alloy case will have to compete with the Otters and Hello kitty plastic or rubber cases.
My 9 or 10 month 5S has scratches and dings all over it. All of mine in the past have had scratches. Millions of other peoples have phones like mine and nobody cares. I will replace this one probably next year after it breaks. The new iPhones are cool, but, after my 6 years of smart phones, the fad is cooling off for me. Sure it's still a great device and I will always have and use them. But, so does everyone else. Big deal.
Now that Apple has FINALLY brought a larger screen to market, the already awesome devices including other brands are going to find it difficult to one up each other with life changing features that people will actual use.
Hate to say it. The iPhone Liquidmetal case rumor mill is more beneficial to momo traders trading LQMT than it will be to LQMT longs. When/if they do use it, it is not life changing or even a significant feature. Just a different material in the case. Here we go again talking LQMT/iPhone when LQMT won't even get paid if they use it.
With the rapid development and refinement of other materials and manufacturing methods like MIM, LQMT desperately needs to put their product to work yesterday. And CE isn't going to make them any revenue anyway so....... Why are we even discussing it? Doh.
