How do you know that by visually looking at it without doing any type of chemical testing and other tests to determine? For what it's worth, the Utah Geological Survey has a nice article about the differences between gold vs fools gold, as well as pictures showing the common octahedral shape of fools gold. The gold pictured in the pics I replied to is NOT octahedral in shape, is not a pale/brassy yellow and not crystalline in shape. Visually speaking, there is no evidence whatsoever that it is fools gold, the only way to know for sure at that point would be to test it scientifically to determine the nature of it. From the visual observations, however, it fits the description of gold much more than it does of fools gold, and I personally own gold nuggets and have some fools gold samples and the shape/color is much closer to real gold.

Here is the Utah link.

And here is the best picture of the gold showing the golden color of the gold as well as the lack of octahedral or crystalline structure thus indicating, from a visual standpoint alone, that it is indeed genuine gold. There is no evidence visually to suspect otherwise.
