Anyone who bought and held this last year is underwater, everyone in fact who has bought in the last 5+ years is currently underwater. It's certainly not about me and my trading habits.I'm trying to stay focused on the problem here and it's not me,nor is it Ryan morris or so-called bashers on other boards. The problem is current management and how we got to where we are now.
We have gotten here by mgmt.....THEY didn't have any contingency plans in place to avoid this.THEY should have saw this coming and acted on it for the preservation of share value for their long suffering shareholders(not me since I have become a flipper). To be certain it's not something I didn't see coming,my last buy was at 1.00.As well I'm never happy when a trade goes against me and when you drop below a buck the gloves come off,the manipulation by Market makers,by unscrupulous traders etc. You know the drill if you've traded stocks long enough,I will give you the benefit of doubt that you have been.
I'm also pissed at myself for not waiting a bit longer to see if it dropped further.I should have known with the shorts clamoring all over this and the fact that none of the SSCA will be monetized for months that this would be the result. If you saw a post I made a few days ago I said that I just wasn't "feeling" a drop to the low .90s or .80s.I was absolutely wrong and I suspect it was because of the shorts...once they start it is like dominoes. Why didn't Odyssey step in and start buying? Why didn't they over ride the short campaign with some cash? Why didn't the "millionaires",the insiders step in and support the share price?
I guess I am relying on Stemm and Gordon too much.If I saw this coming why didn't they? Of course they did. This really was not unexpected and now Gordon acts as if it were a surprise? In other words if I was smart enough to see this coming and don't run the company why did the people that are running the company seem so surprised? I knew this was possible when I bought at 1.00 but the temptation was too overwhelming I suppose.I should have known better and I can't blame them for my trading acumen.I can blame them for being Full o crapp and acting like they didn't know this was possible given all the facts surrounding the company.
I thought that if this did drop below a buck they would have some artillery to fire at the market, apparently they have nothing but a "letter" to shareholders to explain their lack of action against the "attackers" of their company instead of stepping up to the plate and sticking it to them with some well placed information that would blow them out of the water.Obviously their planning didn't include a back up plan if the market reacted the way it did to current operations. That to me is irresponsible!!
If they sit still for months and drag things out with inaction again this fall/winter this company will be in serious trouble and I mean serious. They will have nothing to leverage as far as stock if they do need to tap the market with a convertible deal.Shareholders will be so screwed by their lack of ability to see this coming and not exercising prudence. It is easy for them to pretend like they didn't see this coming ....I cry BS.
I can lose everything I have on OMEX as I never have been a "BIG" player,in other words if it goes to zero my financial situation is not going to alter my life (never invest more than you can afford and so on) I also accept responsibility for my own decisions ...I just wish they would do the same.
The stock has been languishing for several months and they have nothing? The market doesn't like stupidity ,it doesn't like mgmt. that seems to fly by the seat of their pantaloons!
Let's pretend I am in charge ,I'm running this company. What would I have done differently right now? I would have told people without hesitation that the company is heading for X marks the spot to work on X which will net the company X through the winter months.Don't tell me you are going to be doing repairs, then you are going to be testing equipment and sitting on your azz "looking" and "planning" your strategy for the SSCA which is dead in the water until next spring.
They should be on to the next "big thing" out of the 3 million shipwrecks they have world wide.Something in warmer water for the winter months.Put the new piece of Equipment in ...do the little repairs needed but don't act like you don't know where the Fk you are going to be working through the winter months. The market doesn't like indecision. That is why they are getting B slapped by the market. The market doesn't know what they are doing save a few weeks out.
Here is what Gordon said yesterday morning in regards to future operations >>>>>
"In this case, that means moving the Central America project to shore-based work for now, while preparing the Odyssey Explorer for other planned shipwreck projects. Our contractual rights for this shipwreck site are secured and we can now deploy our personnel and equipment on other projects that we had lined up."
as well
"I will work hard to bring you updates on several of these projects in the very near-term"
REALLY? SERIOUSLY?
How about telling people WHAT project you are heading to? How about telling people what that project return to investors might be?
This is where the rub is,,,,,,,,,,the market doesn't like indecision and waffling ....they have become smarter from years of the same tactics by OMEX over and over..........the market and I have grown smarter.
Give us some meat mate......where's the beef?
Bottom line they should have already known where they are headed for the winter in short order .........not while preparing the Odyssey Explorer for other planned shipwreck projects
Gordon even said "We expected to work on this project for approximately five months in 2014. We have just completed our fifth month of work on the site. It had been our plan to move on to other projects at about this time and we are sticking with that plan."
Okay ,,,,,so you knew it would last 5 months and you've had 5 MFkn months to plan your next project and you can't tell shareholders what that is? You're sticking with the plan but yet you have no plan?
Give me a break
