They could receive deferred compensation, such as options exercisable only above market and once HDY had reached a milestone, such as a much higher share price and the next well drilled.

Leaving it to a board member to fall on his sword like this doesn't seem right. Meanwhile massive the cash burn continues unabated and the number of employees and their compensation remains at these ridiculous levels?

Sounds to me like Lord David Owen has delivered a rebuke to HDY management and directors, not just a resignation letter. Good on him.
