Kiwanis to collect e-waste for recycling

The Finger Lakes Kiwanis Clubs will host an e-waste recycling drop-off collection from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Town of Arcadia Highway Department, 233 Blackmar St., Newark, to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital.


The club will collect a variety of electronic waste, including appliances, cables, computers, computer parts, DVD and VCR players, speakers, copiers, scanners, printers, fax machines, modems, laptops, keyboards, microwaves, cellular phones, monitors circuit boards, speakers, telephones and televisions.


Items that cannot be recycled through the event include air conditioners and other freon-containing appliances, ballasts, batteries and light bulbs.


Electronics will be recycled by E-Waste Systems in Geneva.
