The Yahoo statistics page just points out how obvious the negative information about Molycorp is. One doesn't need to do any deep due diligence to see that the company is dead.

Hard to believe with the information so readily available that people can't figure it out. But some people become married to their losing investments and are clearly way beyond help.

Shorts have made 100s of millions of dollars in the last year, because people can't spot a clearly losing investment.
