And to ascribe it to anything else is to ascribe LODE the power to have control over bull and bear markets in precious metals, power they obviously don't have.

Lode should have the power to control and manage itself. Lode can not control the price of gold but it can easily control its own operations and those operations are separate from the price of precious metals. For example they could have used a longer term average price for gold and graded their mine plan appropriately for a modest gold price environment and then we would be in our second year of growing profits and we would probably have a fairly high multiple. Lode has the power to manage its finances, its various production circuits, control staffing, and many costs. They have complete control of the company's ultimate destiny. A good gold company should be able to produce profitably at any price or know when to hibernate if they cannot. History has proven that the business model lode is emulating works and can make profits at nearly any price of gold. There are lots of high cost producers out there but lode should not be among them. There is no excuse. I follow dozens of similar stocks and lode is seemingly the only one who cannot make any money at these prices. And when I say that I mean higher quality open pit heap leach operations with MC facilities in NA of which lode should be among.

Not a perfect example but look at a company like Claude Resources. It shows how quickly things can be turned around, but only if steps are taken. Even if is not reflected in the share price performance and value in real terms can still increase. I feel we are kind of stagnant here at lode.

Why is lode in this position? Bad timing and mismanagement.
That is the most fair appraisal in my opinion.

Can it be turned around? Yes!
