If state introduced policy change, people would buy alternative-fuel vehicles, report says.
What is the Clean Energy Coalition?
Environmental advocates released a report in Lansing Wednesday showing state policies that would help people change to alternative fuel vehicles. They used Utah and Oklahoma as examples of states promoting clean energy. Advocates say before things change, they have to educate the public.
"I think it's education," said Josh Rego of the Clean Energy Coalition. "We want to increase awareness of the benefits of these technologies provide. NOT just in Michigan specifically, but to the country in general."
The group is hoping for lawmakers to eventually consider grants or rebates to encourage alternative fuel production.
