Molycorp is in several indices (like the Russell 2000). As mutual funds/etfs that track the indexes get cash they buy/sell small amounts of all the underlying companies.
It's pretty normal. The trades are virtually cost/commission-free.
It's got nothing to do with the fact that Molycorp has no chance of ever turning a profit and that its shares are essentially worthless.
