Hemp is 3% CBD. Charlotte's Web is 17% CBD

The currently largest supplier of CBD has bragged about the special, high-CBD hemp it cultivates in Europe, which it then processed into a CBD-rich oil that's about 15% - 17% CBD.

The problem is, as their (recently terminated) distributor told the world on their Facebook page,) the raw CBD oil from the stalks is a maximum of 3% CBD.

Therefore, in order to get a 15% - 17% CBD final product, they have to spend a lot of money to extract the CBD. Unfortunately, that processing also raises the THC, to somewhere between 0.7% and 1%, technically making it illegal.

The marijuana strain, Charlotte's Web, is naturally at 15% - 17% CBD, with THC below 0.5%. State legislatures are working to legalize the oil from CharWeb (and similar strains) and there is an effort being made at the federal level, with a bill introduced in the House a few weeks ago.

Since the oil extracted from Charlotte's Web doesn't need expensive refinement to raise the CBD level, it's a lot cheaper than the high-CBD oil from hemp.

A two month supply of CharWeb oil costs about $600, while a similar supply of the high-CBD hemp oil is approximately $2500.

Legalization of strains like Charlotte's Web won't help HEMP one little bit.
