Cheniere Energy forecasts 5M tons/year of Sabine Pass LNG sales

Cheniere Energy (NYSEMKT:LNG) plans to sell more than 5M metric tons/year of liquefied natural gas under short- and medium-term contracts after all the trains at its two Sabine Pass export projects are operating in 2019.

LNG says 1.6M tons/year have been sold under short- or medium-term contracts from the first four trains of the project in Louisiana.

The first Sabine Pass train is expected to produce its first liquefied gas in late 2015 and reach full production in early 2016, and all four trains are expected to be producing by 2017, according to an investor presentation.
