Law360, San Francisco (September 04, 2014, 7:49 PM ET) -- The Oakland federal judge overseeing Apple Inc.'s bid to invalidate Wi-LAN Inc. data transmission patents granted Wi-Lan's motion Thursday to ship the tech giant's claims to a San Diego federal court to join a related suit, but said he will hang onto Apple's claims against patents of a Wi-Lan subsidiary.
U.S. District Court Judge Claudia Wilken agreed with Wi-LAN's motion to sever and transfer Apple's declaratory judgment suit to U.S. District Court Judge Dana Sabraw, who has been overseeing Wi-Lan's patent suit against Apple for the past 18..
