you can absolutely short pink companies, but you have to comply with the $2.50 per share equity rule and there has to be borrows available. It ties up a ridiculous amount of capital to short lower priced stocks, so it has to be a trade you have strong conviction in and also are willing to tie up boatloads of capital.
