They said (and I forget in what format) that they essentially put it on the back burner, focusing on PrintRite for the time being. That is the end goal though… the real 'closed-loop' control from having their software integrated into the machine and correcting defects automatically. The Materialise agreement may help with that, too- in getting it to communicate with existing machines, but not sure how far away that is. This first edition is still dependent on alerting the controller person to potential problems, as far as I know. The biggest issue with 3D printing is these machines have to be constantly calibrated and aligned, so knowing something is off is the difference between one scrapped part and 10+, if that makes sense. My husband had a friend over talking about this and apparently the guy used one that had become totally useless/irreparable from improper calibration.
