there was a really cool picture of someone about to get hammered by a skycrane dump taken by one of the hotshots from below it that i saw on facebook, now i can't find it. when you see that coming and dropping over you in timber, you are going to get your ass kicked with 2600 gallons of water and all sorts of limbs and tops from trees. plus your camera is probably going to have the hurt put on it.

But on the Happy Camp fires they called in both the DC-10 air tankers, which hold 12,000 gallons, and it costs about $66,000 per drop.

when you see this bad boy coming toward you to dump, all you can do is throw your tools away from you and hit the dirt, putting your arms around the top of your hardhat, facing the drop. and if it has been sitting loaded for a few days, the retardant can have very large chunks in it which really ruins your day.
