You are 100% correct "selling in Manhattan is not going to get it done" but what better way to start than a store in Manhattan? The supermarket is a chain of 4 locations all along the westside of Manhattan hence the name "Westside Markets" ;)I think they did very well location a good location for the initial placement and here is why. Heres a little about westside markets... (if you must skip the part about westside markets but note the bold (they serve 6000+ customers a day! Continue to read the rest(not in italics. if you don't know marketing there are 4 P's of Marketing 1.Product 2.Price 3.PLACE 4. Promotion)

At Westside Market, customer care is just that – a demonstration of genuine care for each and every customer.

It begins with our store hours. All but 1 of our locations is open 24/7 to serve your needs. Every contact, whether in person, phone or e-mail, is friendly and helpful. In fact, you can contact each store directly – there’s no automated system – you’ll reach a live person and you’ll receive a manager’s undivided attention. Really!

We offer the ultimate in convenience, because that’s how it should be. You’ll get to know us by name, and we’ll get to know you. So, don’t hesitate to ask questions, or make special requests – that’s what we’re here for. Just ask the 6,000+ customers we serve every day.

What better place for a brand to start out with? Manhattan has a population of 1,626,159... thats not counting tourist who visit from around the United States and other parts of the world (but lets just focus on the USA right now). So now not just the population (from 2013) lets talk about tourist, so they visit Manhattan and now they go home finally getting the chance to try some Jala because they saw it while doing some shopping in Manhattan and decided to bring it back to the hotel for a late snack. Now when they go home maybe they will send a product request to their local supermarket.

IMO I think we got a nice deal with the commission and no slotting fees, along with a nice first order about 54 cases per location (if each location has stock). One location is not open 24 hours and I am unsure if they carry it.

More importantly lets focus about Upper Westside Manhattan...
Median Household Income: $73,836
Median Age: 40 (A age when health becomes an issue... maybe no more ICE CREAM why not yogurt!?)
Who lives in Upper Westide Manhattan You ask? I'll tell you...

Multi-lingual Urbanites—Urban dwellers who speak more than one language.
Some have a high school or college education, and they work in a variety of occupations. Moderate to upper-scale earning potential.

Bright Lights, Big City—Very mobile singles living in the city.
