Health Care Down as Traders Hedge on Drug Candidates -- Health-Care Roundup

DOW JONES & COMPANY, INC. 4:17 PM ET 08/28/14

Drug makers and health insurers ticked down as traders hedged their bets on the outlook for drug developments.

The National Institutes of Health said it would begin testing an experimental Ebola vaccine in humans next week, accelerating research as an epidemic of the deadly virus continues to ravage West Africa. GlaxoSmithKline, co-developer of the vaccine candidate, along with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said it would manufacture up to 10,000 doses, and stand ready to ship them if initial trials are successful.
