DESCRIPTION:
The Caymanas Park horseracing facility is owned by the Government of Jamaica through
Caymanas Track Ltd (CTL) and was formed to manage and control the Caymanas Park
facility to enable the conduct of the sport of horseracing including the transmission of
audio and video broadcasts to off-track betting facilities. CTL holds licences from the
Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission for the promotion of horseracing at Caymanas
and the operation and running of Pari-Mutuel Betting Pools. Approximately 1,000 on track
races are promoted annually. The objective of the privatisation is to provide a modern
first-class racing/entertainment complex which will facilitate the future self-sustainability
of the horseracing industry in Jamaica.

STAGE OF INVESTMENT READINESS:
Pre-privatisation assessment

STATUS:
The GOJ is presently in the preparatory stage of this privatisation transaction. A
multi-disciplinary team of professionals knowledgeable about the sport of horseracing
and of the gaming industry in Jamaica has been formed to recommend
the most appropriate privatisation model for CTL to the GOJ.
