NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- These are stocks making notable moves on Tuesday:
Gainers
ANN Inc. (ANN): The women's retailer has hired J.P. Morgan to explore a potential sale.
DSW Inc. (DSW): The discount shoe-retailer reported stronger-than-expectedsecond-quarter results early Tuesday.
Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) : The computer company is recalling hazardous power cords Tuesday.
Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN): The online retailer confirmed the purchase of live-streaming service Twitch late Monday. Amazon is also making moves to more directly challenge Google in online ads.
Bedrocan Cannibis Corp. : The Canadian medical marijuana producer has been flying high since it started trading in Toronto on Monday.
Kite Pharma Inc. (KITE): The biotech firm late Monday said 12 out of 13 patients in an early-to-mid-stage clinical trial showed some form of remission from Non-Hodgkins lymphoma after receiving the company's drug candidate.
Digital Ally Inc. (DGLY): Interest in the wearable-camera company's products has been on the rise after the fatal police shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson . Price action in the stock has seen big swings over recent days.

Orbitz Worldwide Inc. (OWW): American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) has withdrawn its fares as well of those of US Airways , which it owns, from the online travel website.
Burger King Worldwide Inc. (BKW): The fast-food chain confirmed plans to take over Canadian coffee-and-doughnut chain Tim Hortons Inc. (THI) and move its headquarters across the border. Billionaire investor Warren Buffett is helping with the financing. But moving to Canada to cut taxes may not work as well for individuals.
Best Buy Co. Inc. (BBY): The consumer-electronics retailer's outlook was soft.
Trina Solar Ltd. ADS(TSL): The Chinese manufacturer of solar-power modules swung to a profit in the second quarter, but its solar-module shipments fell just shy of expectations.
Tickers to Watch
Apple Inc. (AAPL): The iPhone and iPad maker failed to set a fifth straight record close. Last week, Apple set a post-stock-split record of $101.32 . Apple announced Monday it will replace defective iPhone 5 batteries.
Facebook Inc. (FB): The social-networking site said it is cracking down on "click-bait," citing user dissatisfaction with misleading headlines.
