That is correct. It is a functional cure, which means it keeps the virus from contuing to infect the immune cells...preventing progression of the disease. However, it seems to me that you would still be infectious, since it doesn't actually shut down the virus the way the hep c one does. The hep c treatment actually neutralizes the virus itself. Calimmune's treatment merely locks the gate into the cells. Virus is still in you though.
