Perhaps, but probably not. The next paragraph says "...airborne transmission has not been demonstrated between non-human primates..."; nor in human primates.

http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/study-confirms-ebola-not-transmitted-through-air

"There is absolutely no evidence that primates can transmit Ebola to one another through the air. The only evidence of primate-to-primate transmission is from direct bodily contact.

The reason EVD has spread throughout West Africa is due to a lack of healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, many are distrusting of medical practices and favor their traditional techniques, which often include contact with the patient without any protective barriers."

http://www.nature.com/srep/2014/140725/srep05824/full/srep05824.html

"The results support the concept that Ebola virus infection is self-contained in NHPs infected intramuscularly, at least in the present experimental conditions, and is not transmitted to naïve NHPs via an airborne route."

"Overall, all four virus families have demonstrated the capacity to be transmitted via the air in different experimental protocols. However, airborne transmission in natural outbreaks cannot be a common occurrence and is possibly insignificant by the account of several reports."

Then there is this report ...

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2014/08/ebola-airborne-verified-studies-show-airborne-transmission-of-deadly-virus-nih-lancet-osha/

with confirmation from an ID expert - "Dr. Dan told me there has never been a documented case of airborne transmission of Ebola."

I am curious how the American health care workers were infected, if they were sloppy with their standard precautions, or not. Ebola requires BSL-4 for research, but I wonder how it's actually handled in the field by medical personnel who really should know better. I suppose it's possible they didn't know they were dealing with Ebola at first, and they weren't as careful as they should've been.
