Yeah you're right Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd was not taken over by Panasonic, it simply changed its name to and turned into Panasonic in 2008. So it's basically just Panasonic. Point is, Panasonic owns the patent for the 3D Cell. I'm trying to figure out why they helped Solar3D build their 3D Cell Panel prototype in 2012.

Here's from Wikipedia:

"From 1935 to October 1, 2008 the company name was "Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd."[4][5] On January 10, 2008, the company announced that it would change its name to "Panasonic Corporation", with effect from October 1, 2008 to conform with its global brand name "Panasonic".[6] The name change was approved at a shareholders' meeting on June 26, 2008 after consultation with the Matsushita family.[7]"

Whatever the reason, I think that's actually great news that we are not only friendly with, but essentially partners with, Panasonic, the company that has the patent we need. This isn't a small detail and coincidence, I have to think Panasonic has a keen interest in Solar3D and the fact that the scientists, namely our superstars Changwan Son and Nadir Dagli, were able to use the concept of the 3D Cell and turn it into a working product which can generate electricity better than anyone else in the market.

Now Panasonic had the patent, but they never could figure out how to turn it into something. Solar3D DID figure it out. So Panasonic has something we need, the patent for the 3D Cell, and we have something that they need and don't currently have, which is the ability to turn that 3D Cell into the top solar panel in the world. I personally tend to think that's good for Solar3D. I'm hoping they figured out a way to maybe go for a patent for the whole solar panel unit instead of just the 3D cell, which is one element of it. That way, it could be considered a combination invention and granted its own patent even though it uses the 3D Cell as one element in it.
