I should clarify re benefits of statins for those with LDL under 130 and CRP over 2 ...The Tim Russet indication.

It was long believed that if your LDL was under 130 ...no problem , no need for Statins. Dr Ballantyne's research showed that even if you had moderate LDL ...IF you have inflammation ...CRP over 2 ...there was benefit from taking a Statin

Of course the benefit is greatest for those with Familia Hypercholestremia because at least in the hetero variety your lipids can be all over the place .

My highest LDL recorded pre Statins was 312 , my HDL often at 29 , my TGs in the low 200's.
