I sold out bc of several reasons....

#1 CEO a true genius was out the door- only reason it survived.
#2 The street will not look at Ford same way after he exits.
#3 IMO my analysis and DD led me to believe PPS close to peaking.
#4 Not sure if blueprint Mulally left for mgmt can be followed.
#5 Beat the street out the back door took the high values.
#6 They can't ever replace an Alan Mulally.
#7 Mgmt could resort back to old days compete with each other.
#8 Innovation will not be same without Mulally that resurrected F.
#9 I never listen to analysts they are BS artists.
#10 F will tread on Mulallys name but honeymoon will be over soon.

Looking back since I've been out I think I made the right call for my financial well being. I honestly do not hope this happens above to Ford and Mulally left them with enough wisdom. I absolutely love Ford and their cars...and it would be a shame if they resorted back to what put them into trouble in the 1st place. #1 corp infighting between diff US geographic managment which crippled the company and there were to many cooks in the kitchen with their own corp climbing agendas for financial gains and egos. #2 lack of innovation crippled Ford before Mulally got there. #3 Mulally closed plants and lines that were dinosaurs. #4 he leveraged and financed cleaned the books (includes iconic Ford symbol) up since no one had a clue as to what they were doing. #5 old management that was dysfunctional was forced out. #6 he reprogrammed the corp mentality amongst upper mgmt-but now that he's gone it's unknown whether that will hold up.

As one can see if your reading this I have done my homework assignments as I held this for many many years when I bought at the very bottom and never once even entertained the thought of selling. Until recently for the reasons I have laid out. I have been a large (still Boeing) shareholder for many decades and knew Alans work and have studied him through the decades. I kept Boeing after Alan left- his leadership was ingrained into their culture...I'm not 100% sure it's going to be duplicated here at Ford after his exit and there are other factors like Boeing is an integral and dominant aircraft manufacturer not just in US but the world. Plus I knew Boeing they were moving into more defense and aerospace related projects and well Ford is just a car maker.

I really hope Ford keeps this together and honestly the legacy of Ford will be it's continued success after Mulally has left the room decades later...that's his benchmark his gift.

He really is a Titan of American business like Jack Welch and others from the past- we this country needs more of them to pull this country though the future. We need American ingenuity and power through the sale of our goods in a global market to increase against foreign competition.
