Again---you throw up statistics---I actually watch him pitch...
my comment was he has been lucky of late----you come back with he's saved xxx in a row...
off the top of my head--since I actually watched the games-- in no particular order the last 7 or so outings with the game in the balance:
Carter-Astros-3 run bomb to left following 2 walks... Sean Rodriquez-Tampa-mile high shot to the wall in left... Beltre-Texas-mile high shot to the wall in left... Longoria-Rays-blast to the wall in right... Loney-Rays-blast to the wall in RC... Navarro-Jays-game losing shot to RC... Headley makes tremendous play vs Pedroia to end game with runner at 2nd
of late:2 L's in his last 9 games...7 saves--2 routine, the other 5 lucky...
It doesn't have to be pretty as long as he gets it done. Mistake #1.
when his command/control is all over the place--even during "success"--it usually catches up with you--he's had 5 balls that looked like game losers off the bat in his last 9 outings in addition to the two that actually were game losers--on pitches that missed the glove by a foot each time---not acceptable down the stretch (which started for us a month ago)----
